Kuala Kubu Bharu is the principal town of Hulu Selangor District, became the administrative centre of Hulu Selangor district, is located on top of a Hill and is near the located junction of federal routes. KKB began as a mining town in the 18th century, is referred to in a song by the celebrated, Malaysian singer. Fortress was constructed in the area before the British colonial powers. The tragedy was known as Tragedi Kuala Kubu by local civilians. The Hulu Selangor District Council was established on 1 January. People were killed including the Hulu Selangor district officer of Kuala Kubu. Residential houses have been developed since the 1980s. Inhabitants are from the nearby, new town of Kuala Kubu Bharu. Monument was built to commemorate the Kuala Kubu tragedy, was built in the town. Ampang Pechah Ampang Pechah is the original site of the Kuala Kubu. Spot to please the hungry traveller is Teng Wun bakery. The area is represented by Lee Kee Hiong of the DAP. Level Kuala Kubu Bharu is part of the Hulu Selangor.
