Ironwood Ridge High School is a public, high school in located Oro Valley. The school mascot is the Nighthawk, the school colors. Ironwood Ridge is the only US, high school, received a rating of Superior, scored in the 204. The school board began a process with the FWS, began searching for a third, high school site in the late 1970s, searched for school sites on the northwest side. Deals were negotiated with developers by the late 1980s. Time crowding was in the critical, elementary school grade levels. The school district planned to break ground in October, applied for the permit. Defenders obtained restraining a temporary order to halt the construction. The Arizona District Court found that no pygmy owl. The court held that the school district, asserted that critical habitat designation. The Nighthawks managed to get five wrestlers into the state championship finals, finished with three state champions, scored over 300 points. The Ironwood Ridge football team won a Share of the Sonoran Region championship in 2006, has made the 4A playoffs, four years. Ironwood Ridge golf has won 4 region championships. The tennis program has won straight six region championships. Program Ironwood Ridge is home to based two choirs. Nighthawk Vanguard The Nighthawk Vanguard is marching the official band of Ironwood Ridge High School. The band performs at all home varsity football games. The Nighthawk Vanguard hosts the March, the Ridge festival, has participated in various, national events. Winter drumline IRHS sponsors an Annual winter drumline.
