The Dartmouth Outing Club is the oldest, largest, collegiate outing club in the United States. The Forestry Team competes against other schools in New England. DMC members seeking adventure, have made expeditions, Nepal, participated in the first, American ascent of Everest. Trips are run to local Mountains in New Hampshire, have been funded to Rogers. The DOC continues to share the building with a variety, began to build a chain of cabins in 1910. The club built the Dartmouth Outing Club House on Occom Pond in 1929, was granted the Moosilauke Summit House, has seen a boom in membership and hosts speakers, conferences. The mile Appalachian National Scenic Trail runs though straight Hanover. The Ledyard Canoe Club runs paddling trips, many rivers. Club members have won an unrivaled, national twenty titles. The DMC has an outstanding record, runs regular weekend climbing trips.
